Historic Importance: Before the Clone Wars, Naboo was invaded by the Droid Army of the Trade Federation in an attempt to settle a dispute over taxation of outer trade routes. It is believed that Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray was under orders to invade the planet from a Sith Lord. The Federation's occupation of Naboo ended when Queen Amidala of Naboo lead an army of Gungans, security volunteers and two Jedi Knights to claim back her planet.
Naboo was the site of the deaths of both Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Sith Lord Darth Maul.
