The Battle of Endor

When the Rebel Alliance found the Galactic Emnpire was constructing a second, more dangerous Death Star in orbit above the Sanctuary Moon of Endor, they knew that the completion of this space station would spell the end of the Rebellion. They were unaware that the Death Star was fully operational, and was actually a trap laid by Emperor Palpatine to destroy the Rebel fleet once and for all.

The Alliance gathered every ship in their now considerable fleet and prepared for a full scale assault on the supposedly vulnerable Death Star. A covert team led by General Han Solo infiltrated the Forest Moon to destroy the Death Star's protective shield ahead of the fleet.

The battle was almost won by the Empire. However, through the help of a local tribe of Ewoks, Solo's team destroyed the shield. The Rebel fleet, kept alive through General Lando Calrissian's leadership despite the Emperor's ambush, then proceeded to destroy the second Death Star.
